Ron O'Donnell - Beyond Home
2nd August - 27th September 2025
The Tolbooth, Stirling
Part of
Stirling Photography Festival

Ron O'Donnell is a photographic artist renowned for his dazzling constructed and narrative photographs. His images are vibrant, daring and humorous, touching upon allegory, myth, identity, mortality, and politics.

The exhibition includes street photographs of Edinburgh in the 1970s ,and medium format images of the interiors of various workplaces and shops, atmospheric spaces that speak of the city's Industrial character and social fabric. The work then moves toward more constructed imagery, culminating in digitally composed works that reflect a shift in both technique and vision over the decades. Of the exhibition he says: "together, the work traces an evolving dialogue, and my own changing approach to the art of photography."

We are delighted to support this mini-retrospective of Ron's work in his home town of Stirling and to be partnering again with Stirling Photography Festival in their 2025 festival with their theme of  'Beyond'.

Beyond Home has been curated by Ron exclusively for the Stirling Photography Festival and includes new work specially created for the exhibition. A short film on Ron has been made by Michael Prince and will be shown as part of the exhibition.
