Black History Month: New Shoots Old Roots + The Missing Chapter: Black Chronicles
New Shoots Old Roots
1st – 3rd November (new extended dates)
Trongate 103
This exhibition revisits a collaboration Street Level Photoworks undertook with the African and Caribbean Women’s Association (ACWA), in compiling the volumes of ‘New Shoots Old Roots’ from 2014 to 2020. These publications capture African and Caribbean women’s experiences of coming to and living in Scotland from the 1950’s to the present day and the panels in the exhibition are a testimony to many of the women who are part of ACWA’s story and indeed Scotland’s recent ‘histories’.
