This one day course is the perfect follow on from the beginner’s introduction to SLR shooting and film processing.  It covers all you need to know to get started printing your own B&W photographs in the darkroom.  You will need to bring along developed B&W film negatives - paper and chemistry are provided.  This day offers a comprehensive introduction to the magic of the darkroom and printing by hand, covering:

· Introduction to darkroom: enlargers and chemistry

· Darkroom etiquette and Health & Safety

· Making a contact sheet of your negatives.

· Making enlargements from negatives (10” x 8”)

Tiu Makkonen is a fine art and freelance photographer originally from Finland who has been living and working in Scotland for over a decade. Tiu has exhibited her work in both group and solo shows and currently works as the Resource & Skills Facilitator at Street Level Photoworks. More info here
