This project draws on the social landscape of the East End of Glasgow and portrays 50 shopkeepers, workers and owners of local businesses that are trading in that area. It aims to capture something of the relationships that exist between different communities that contribute to the shaping of what our city is. For most, it is business as usual, but with the huge development of the Commonwealth Games 2014, it is forecast that this area of the city will be transformed into a hub of economic growth with likely effects on the local people and businesses. 'A Celebration' portrays the diversity of the East End, and as a consequence, a community spirit that thrives amidst the uncertainties of change.
