This CD-ROM was the result of a multi-media arts project that introduced creative approaches to photography and digital media.
The participants, refugees and asylum seekers, worked together with artist Lindsay Perth and photographer Iseult Timmermans of Street Level using a range of cameras – SLR, digital, video and home made ‘pinhole’ cameras. The project theme was based on an ‘orientation’ guide to Glasgow, but one that explored people’s emotional orientation, as much as any physical map.
The photographs and video clips – from the dream-like pinhole images to the clarity of the digital – document the housing estates where the participants live, aspects of the city centre and the glorious shores of Loch Lomond, alongside arrival stories and interviews.
