All courses are £130 (waged) and £100 (concession) except where stated.
Members receive the concession rate.

Taster Course:
Processing Black and White film


20th April 12pm : 2.5 hours
£20 per person

Learn how to process black and white film with consistent and reliable results. All formats of film are catered for, participants should bring one exposed Black and White film with them.
Taster Course:
Scanning and correcting negatives


1st June 12pm : 2 hours
£20 per person

Create professional exhibition quality files from your negatives with the Hasselbad X5 scanner. The course covers all formats of film, and explains resizing, colour correction and re-touching. Participants should bring along one developed film to scan.

Learn the whole process of photography, in one weekend, using a 35mm SLR camera. From exposure and composition to processing your film, printing up contact sheets and making enlargements. This course will equip you with the skills required to use a darkroom without assistance. Ideal for those with no previous experience, or requiring a refresher. Combined Portraiture and Photoshop

Learn how to consistently create professional portraits, with exhibiting artist Arpita Shah, through the creative application of lighting, composition and camera techniques. Covering uploading images from your camera, or scanning film in high resolution to work on the images,  you will then be introduced to the basic Photoshop CS6 tools and settings, which will help you enhance and perfect your photographs. From cropping your photographs, to fixing blemishes, and making your images more saturated, this workshop will focus on all the important tools that every portrait photographer uses. This course is possible in film and digital formats.

This course will cover the breadth of digital photography using a DSLR camera. Including creative methods of image capture, workflow management and the processing / alteration of images using Adobe CS6. Ideal for those wanting to break away from using the auto function, to create great images consistently. A collection of 29 instructional PDFs is included.

Improve your black and white printing technique. This course covers such topics as f-stop printing, archival procedures, local contrast adjustments (dodging and burning) and split grade printing. You will learn how to achieve a reliable and repeatable result out of your darkroom session. This course is ideal as a follow on from the Black and White beginners course, or for anyone wanting to improve their current darkroom skills and master new techniques.

Learn how to print a perfect cyanotype and take a first step into alternative photographic processes. You will learn how to prepare your own chemicals and coat paper with your own emulsion; how to enlarge your negatives and perform contact printing using ultraviolet light. It is a hands-on workshop, so there will be plenty opportunities for practice, questions and discussions. This workshop will equip you with sufficient knowledge to master many other alternative printing processes too.
